"Loneliness is the price we have to pay for being born in this modern age, so full of freedom, independence, and our own egotistical selves" (pg 30, Sensei)
Write about your thoughts on this quote...in what ways, for example, does social media in our time perhaps isolate people as much as it connects people? Does it augment our egotism? Are we "together" but "alone"?
In our generation especially social media is a main influencer of how we view ourselves and how we view others. Social media connects people of course but it also shows the whole world a type of status and normal of what people should look and act like. When others see that they dont look or sound or act like what society wants them too, they feel isolated and alone which then leads to people feeling like they are not and never will be good enough for others. Social media also creates a type of fake togethernes feeling but in general creates a lonesome feeling within others.
